The final line up for 2011’s Gaymers Camden Crawl has been announced, including some exciting late additions including appearances by top grime MC Tinchy Stryder and former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon.

The festival, which is now in its sixteenth year, takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend (30th April-1st May) in 39 bars and venues in the Camden area of North London, including The Forum, Koko, Barfly and ‘Camden Bars’ venues The Camden Head, Enterprise, Monarch and Abbey Tavern.

Highlights include performances by established acts such as The Lemonheads, British Sea Power, Killing Joke, Razorlight, Guillemots, Saint Etienne, The View, and Simian Mobile Disco.

In addition to this year’s extraordinary live music line up, the festival continues to develop the breadth of its daytime fringe arts festival. Featuring a vast array of comedic talent, visual art and crafts exhibitions, spoken word and performance theatre, interactive events & games and, of course, live music, the daytime carnival of entertainment sprawls across an additional thirty Camden Town venues for the weekend from 12 – 6pm both dates.

Immediately following the festival’s fringe programme of cutting edge arts during the daylight hours, the streets of Camden will literally come alive with music. Straddling more than twenty venues, the Crawl evening schedule features over 200 of the best up & coming artists from the UK and abroad alongside seminal greats and very special guests. The evening line up kicks off from 5:30 pm and runs until the wee hours on both days of the weekend.

Upon arrival at the festival each ticket holder is presented with an all-access wristband, programme guide, timetable and free download album to help plot his/her day’s adventure. ‘Crawlers’ are then granted unlimited access to all official daytime and evening venues and parties capacity permitting. As is tradition, the full venue schedules will remain secret until the event and surprise guests may appear at any time and at any venue.

Taking place at THE ABBEY TAVERN this year are folk clubs LANTERN SOCIETY and MAGPIE’S NEST so expect lovely sounds from the likes of Song Dog, Jason Mcniff, The Kilcawley Family, Firefly, Lisa Knapp And Gerry Driver and lots more throughout the day.

Club 88 is going to be showcasing some of London’s finest unsigned & up and coming bands and musicians from Indie to Roots, Electro to Folk, a bit of Blues and everything in between.

With entry to all Club 88 gigs at The Abbey Tavern rigorously free, don’t miss your chance to see some quality music at one of North London’s most entertaining pubs. With great pub food served every day until 10pm, the best beer garden in Kentish Town bar none and some pretty hot bar staff the Abbey is the perfect location for a musically enhanced night out.

SATURDAY 26TH MARCH

WILDFIRE

http://www.myspace.com/bandwildlifeband

Wildlife are the four piece ”Post Punk” band from London//Hertfordshire. Armed with a deep, loud and rhythmic sound that’s influenced by bands isuch as Slint, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. Having only been together for just under 6 months now this band are causing ripples across the south east and are romping through the capitals underground venues including recent shows with O.Children, Rum Shebeen, Electricity In Our Homes & The Vaccines.

ABI MURRAY & BAND

http://www.myspace.com/abimurraymusic

ABI’s unique brand of rock edged soul is as refreshing as it is energetic. Her music is full of lush harmony and coloured with infectious hooks that are both fun and moving in equal measure. Following a recent headline slot at Camden’s Proud Galleries, ABI and the band will be playing more shows in and around London to promote her up and coming debut album

MARSHALL ARTS FAMILY

http://www.myspace.com/marshallartsfamily

The Marshall Arts Family were founded on love of country and folk music. Given their early awakening into the day old sound of folk and blues (Son House, Charlie Patton, Willie Brown) it became apparent you sometimes need to go backwards before you can go any further forward. By embarking on that they have a tentative sound on their findings. The months past have been spent wisely, drinking in cider festivals and writing songs amongst the common heather.

LUCY DAGG

http://www.myspace.com/lucydagg

Lucy is a London based musician from Leeds. Her passion for music has manifested itself in many many different forms since she picked up the recorder at age 4. Throughout the various versions of Lucy the musician, music has always led her home to singing and more recently, song writing. Poetry and music combine 2 of her greatest loves and songwriting gives her the most satisfying outlet for both. It also idyllically sedates her melodramatic character and (put politely) her fear of silence, if only for a blissful moment.
